Around 450,000 Apple iPad devices were sold within the first five days of the sale. The Chief Executive Officer of Apple, Steve Jobs announced this during the Apple iPhone OS 4.0 launch event.

It means that after the launch of the device on Saturday, the company managed to sell around 150,000 devices in the following four days.

Earlier Jobs was quoted in the Wall Street Journal where he said that the latest iPad device will create a milestone in the world of gadgets. He said that it has the potential to change the experience of portable computing.

The Apple CEO has also informed that the company is now producing more than 600,000 iBooks and 3.5 million iPad Apps as compared to the iPad.

That means that each iPad user has downloaded on an average just over one iBook and around 7 Apps.

Apple has already 3,500 iPad Apps in the App store. So, the total number of Apps in the App store is well over an impressive figure of 185,000.

Jobs also revealed that over four billion Apps have been downloaded since the launch of the feature.
