Washington, June 15 : A California judge has ruled that tech giant Apple must defend itself against a lawsuit that claims its devices were tracking activity of millions of users.

The lawsuit alleged that Apple''s apps were enabled to secretly record the movements and other actions of millions of iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users.

The case includes together multiple lawsuits that have been filed against Apple.

Apple argued that user agreements shielded it from liability.

Federal judge Lucy Koh, however, said there was `some ambiguity' as to whether all the information that was collected had been permitted, the BBC reports.

According to the report, the judge dismissed claims that Apple violated customers'' privacy rights.

In striking down the privacy claims, the judge said the supposed invasion in this case was not an `egregious breach of social norms' and might even be deemed `routine commercial behaviour'. (ANI)
