Hollywood actress, Anne Hathaway, has signed for a role in ‘Alice in Wonderland’, a film which Tim Burton is directing for Disney.

The film, which is due for release in 2010, will mix live action with animation and will be in 3D.

Hathaway starred as Agent 99 in ‘Get Smart’, and next appears in the horror thriller ‘Passengers’. Last weekend, ‘Rachel Getting Married’, an acclaimed drama in which Hathaway’s character disrupts her sister’s wedding, opened promisingly in limited release.

When Anne Hathaway was questioned about her ex boyfriend Rafaello Follieri on Saturday Nights Live, she joked, "I broke up with my boyfriend... and two weeks later he was sent to prison for fraud ... I mean, we've all been there, right, ladies?"

Though "SNL" averaged a 7.4 household rating, Hathaway's appearance on "SNL" helped the show score one of its highest-ratings  since 2002.

Hathaway’s close friends remarked that they weren't surprised that Hathaway was a good sport.

The "Princess Diaries" and "Devil Wears Prada" star, Anne Hathaway finally broke her silence on the June arrest of her boyfriend of four years.

In October, she revealed that she felt like "a rug was pulled out from under me" when her Italian boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, was arrested on fraud charges.

Anne Hathaway’s personal diaries have been confiscated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Though the ‘Get Smart’ actress had split from boyfriend Raffaello Follieri just days after he was arrested over a $6 million real estate scam, her journals were seized by FBI during a raid on the 29-year-old Italian businessman's apartment.

Follieri has been charged with 11 counts of fraud and money laundering.
