Obama’s low approval rating makes him ‘more vulnerable’ in 2012 elections:Poll

Obama’s low approval rating makes him ‘more vulnerable’ in 2012 elections:PollWashington, Nov 15: A new poll has shown that US President Barack Obama's low approval rating for tackling the economic crisis, and a growing sense that the country is on the wrong track, could further hit his popularity during the 2012 presidential elections.

The Politico/George Washington University Battleground Poll showed that 44 percent of respondents approve of Obama, while 51 percent hold the contrary view.

Obama's approval rating stood at 40 percent and his disapproval rating increased to 57 percent in a sample survey of the 19 states that could swing to either party in the
2012 presidential elections.

The poll also showed that Obama, however, took a lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney by six percent, and beat Herman Cain by nine percent votes.

The figures indicate that more that the 2012 election is a referendum on Obama's job performance, the more likely he will lose, Politico reports.

"Generic Republicans never flip-flopped on a position and never had any problems in their personal life. When it's a choice, we're in a much, much stronger position," a Democratic pollster, Celinda Lake, said.

A Republican pollster, Ed Goeas, said the GOP nominee could win the next presidential election if he kept election targeted on Obama.

The poll also showed that respondents disapproved Obama's performance on issues they considered significant like economy, jobs or spending.(ANI)
