New York, August 6 : A young girl from California, who made the ultimate presidential family tree, has found that all of the U. S. commander-in-chiefs except for one share a common ancestor - King John of England.
BridgeAnne d'Avignon traced the 43 presidents' male and female family lines and discovered that 42 are linked to King John Lackland, known for signing the Magna Carta in 1215.
"They all have the trait of wanting power," the New York Daily News quoted the 12-year-old as telling the local television station KCOY.
D'Avignon, a seventh grader at Monte Vista Christian School in Santa Cruz, Calif., first began the massive project with the aim of tracing her own ancestry.
The budding genealogist also discovered that she can count President Obama as a relative.
At some point during her research, she decided to expand her scope, spending several months looking at over 500,000 names in search of the presidential bloodline began.
"I think we just all go back somewhere. It''s just a matter of proving it," the New York Post quoted her as saying. (ANI)
