Two killed in landslide in the Philippines Manila  - Two people were killed Friday in a landslide triggered by heavy rains in a city east of the Philippine capital Manila, a provincial police chief said.

Senior Superintendent Ireneo Dordas said the victims were sleeping when the landslide buried their house in Antipolo City in Rizal province, 45 kilometres south-east of Manila.

The weather bureau warned of more rains in the coming days due to a tropical storm spotted 610 kilometres off Casiguran town in the north-eastern province of Aurora.

The bureau said the storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometres per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 80 kph. It is moving west-north-west at 24 kph. (dpa)
