Toyota announces new 2012 Hilux pickupJapanese auto major, Toyota has announced the 2012 model of Hilux pickup with a number of improvements and a new look.

The 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup will feature a new bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps and bumper. The buyers will also be able to choose a new wheel designs and new side bats and steps for the Toyota Hilux Invincible.

As for interiors, the model features a new dashboard design with integrated 6.1 inch touchscreen and a horizontal instrument cluster. The Toyota Hilux HL3 and Invincible features Bluetooth and a USB port for music players, as a standard.

The engine for the model will be the same. The buyers can choose from 142bhp 2.5 D-4D and 169bhp 3.0 D-4D units, that is compatible with Euro 5 light commercial vehicle emissions standards, which is expected to come next week. The 2.5 D-4D engine emits 194g/km CO2 and fuel consumption on the combined cycle has been improved to 38.7mpg.

The 3.0 D-4D Double Cab automatic emits 227g/km on automatic while manual emits 203g/km. The combined fuel consumption is at 32.8mpg for the automatic and 36.7mpg for the manual.
