Swine flu: With 3 more deaths, Pune H1N1 death toll rises to 61

PunePune has recorded its 61st human swine flu-related death.

The deadly virus turned more deadly when three people succumbed to the H1N1 in different hospitals of the city.

Informing the media persons, the health officials said that 51-year-old Dilip Mane, a resident of Mohannagar in Chinchwad died on Wednesday.

The second victim, Madan Agarwal, 34, also breathe his last in a city hospital on Wednesday.

Agarwal was a resident of Anandnagar on Sihagad road.

An under trial in the Yerawada jail named Maruti Ananda Zargad (60) succumbs to the same virus at a government hospital on Thursday.

All of the three victims had tested positive for the swine flu.

Apart from this, 16 more persons tested positive of swine flu on Thursday.

Speaking with the reporters, Ashok Mehta, joint director of the state health services, said: “A total number of 68 suspected patients are being administered Tamiflu tablets.”

“As many as 13 critical patients are being treated at the isolation ICU of private and government hospitals,” added the official.
