Strong quake shakes southern Iran

Tehran- A strong earthquake on Wednesday jolted the southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan, the Khabar news network reported.
The quake, with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale, shook mainly the provincial port of Bandar Abbas, causing panic among residents.
It was not immediately clear whether there were casualties or damage. (dpa)
