World Cup final: Netherlands 0 Spain 0 after 75 minutes

Johannesburg, July 12 : After an hour, Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque made his first substitution, bringing on Sevilla forward Jesus Navas for Pedro.

The Netherlands should have scored in the 63rd minute when Wesley Sneijder put Robben through. The Bayern Munich player had a clear run at goal but fired a shot that Casillas saved with his foot.

Capdevila became the eighth player to be booked, when the referee yellow-carded him for a foul on Robben.

Villa had a great chance in the 69th minute after a defensive error but his effort went off target.

Kuyt went off after 71 minutes and was replaced by SV Hamburg forward Eljero Elia.

Spain had a free-kick on 74 minutes, but Villa hit the ball high over the bar from 26 metres. (DPA)
