Kolkata, March 16 : A gung ho South African skipper Grame Smith says his team seems to be cruising in the 2011 World Cup, but cautions the quarterfinals could be unpredictable as the best teams are peaking for the knockout stage.
"We seem to be cruising a little bit," Smith told mediapersons after the South Africans cantered to the quarterfinal with a convincing 131-run win over Ireland Tuesday night.
"(But there are) lot of teams which can win in the quarterfinals, where we have the best teams in the world. Each team is going to get itself very good in the knockout phase," he said.
"I think it will be unpredictable and you have to perform on the day really," Smith told a questioner.
With eight points from five games, South Africa are aiming to top the group by defeating Bangladesh in their last group B match at Dhaka March 19. The top team from Group B would take on the fourth placed side from Group A in the last eight round.(IANS)
