Melbourne, Nov 14 - David Warner has been called up as replacement for injured Shaun Marsh for the second cricket test against South Africa at Wanderers, Johannesburg starting Thursday.
Marsh was sent home to recover from a back injury that he suffered in the first innings during Australia's humiliating defeat to South Africa in Cape Town.
Warner, known for his exploits in the shorter format of the game, would be looking to don the baggy green for the first time in his career.
"David has been in tremendous form for New South Wales in all forms of the game including a recent century for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield competition," National Selection Panel Chairman Andrew Hilditch was quoted as saying to the Cricket Australia website.
"We are certain that should the opportunity present itself he will be ready to perform at Test level." (IANS)
