Warner credits Langer for his improved batting consistency

Warner credits Langer for his improved batting consistencyKandy (Sri Lanka), Aug 8: Australian Twenty20 specialist David Warner credits batting coach Justin Langer for helping turn him into a more consistent batsman.

When asked about his improved consistency, Warner said: "I put it down more to my feet moving in the direction of the ball."

"I've worked hard at it over the past six months and that's one good thing I've had out of working with Justin Langer," he added.

The 24-year-old further said that he is now a `technically correct' batsman.

"When your feet are moving, your upper body goes with you. It's a skill that when your feet are out to the ball, you connect with the ball all at once," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Warner, as saying.

"When I first started, making my debut, everything was coming from the top basically and not moving my feet but, now that I've learnt that, it's got me adapted to more shot selection," he added.

Warner had made his Twenty20 international debut against South Africa in January 2009.

He had scored 53 off just 31 balls in Australia's 35-run Twenty20 loss to Sri Lanka in Kandy on Saturday. (ANI)
