Wellington, Feb. 2 : New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori says his domain is on the cricket field and he won''t be running the team on a day-to-day basis.
Rejecting talk of player power within the Black Caps, the NZPA quoted Vettori as saying: "On the field is my domain and the manager and coaches look after everything else."
Vettori believed the position he held was similar to that of Australian skipper Ricky Ponting and South African counterpart Graeme Smith.
"It doesn''t differ apart from the fact that my selection role is official," he said.
The New Zealand team head into the opening match of Bangladesh''s tour, a Twenty20 clash in Hamilton on Wednesday night, with selector Mark Greatbatch as new coach. (ANI)
