Chennai, March 18 : England batsman Jonathan Trott became the leading run getter in the 2011 World Cup after he scored a valuable 47 in his team's 18-run win over the West Indies in their must-win Group B match here Thursday night.
Other statistical highlights:
* Trott has 336 runs at an average of 56.00, including four fifties. Trott is the only cricketer in the world to average 60-plus in Tests (61.53) and 50-plus in ODIs (54.27).
* Andrew Strauss's tally of 329 in six games at an average of 54.83, including one century and one fifty, is the next best in the World Cup.
* In England's eleven victories in his brief career, Trott has aggregated 637 runs at an average of 63.70, including two centuries and 6 fifties.
* England's 18-run triumph is their smallest by runs margin against the West Indies at the world cup - their fifth in six successive World Cup games against West Indies.
* The West Indies have beaten England just once at the World Cup - by 92 runs at Lord's on June 23, 1979.
* Sulieman Benn (10-0-56-0) produced his worst bowling performance at the World Cup. He has gone wicketless for the first time in the competition.
* Darren Sammy (41 off 29 balls) registered his best innings at the World Cup.
