London, July 10 : Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted using racially abusive words against Queens Park Rangers player Anton Ferdinand, but in a sarcastic manner, and was only repeating the phrase after Ferdinand had uttered the phrase first.
Terry let rip at Ferdinand with a volley of foul-mouthed and racist abuse because the Hoops defender taunted him about a fling with another player’s girlfriend, a court heard yesterday.
The Chelsea captain is said to have torn into Ferdinand after he had yelled “you s*****d your teammate’s missus” during a cantankerous London derby.
Ferdinand’s taunt was a reference to Terry’s alleged fling with Vanessa Perroncel who was dating former Blues star Wayne Bridge, The Daily Mirror reports.
The former England skipper told Ferdinand to “f*** off, f*** off ‚ f*****g black c***, f*****g knobhead”.
The 31-year-old center back is said to have called Ferdinand into the away dressing room after the clash at Loftus Road in West London said: “It’s handbags innit, it’s what happens on the pitch.”
The comments were made in the dying moments of a 1-0 victory over Chelsea watched by two million TV viewers and 20,000 fans at the ground. (ANI)
