Andy Vernon alleges Mo Farah of 'swearing' post Diamond League win

London, July 10 - British sprinter Mo Farah, who won the 5,000m race on his track return, has been accused of 'swearing' by his rival Andy Vernon at the Diamond League in Lausanne.

Vernon has called Farah 'disgraceful' for snubbing and allegedly abusing him, the BBC has reported.

Farah was so ecstatic with the win that celebrated wildly, punching his chest and shouting with delight as he completed the race in 13 minutes and 11.77 seconds. Vernon finished 15th with a time of 13:47:97.

London, July 10 - British sprinter Mo Farah made an imperious return to the track by winning a 5000-metre race at the Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This was his first race since the doping claims have been put on his coach Alberto Salazar.

The 32-year old athlete completed the race in 13 minutes and 11.77 seconds, and answered his critics in a befitting manner.

Ecstatic with the win, Mo Farah said that this was a way to answer some of the critics regarding his coach, who in his view was 100 percent clear, the BBC reported.

Farah to return to track action at Lausanne Diamond League

London, July 09 - Double Olympic and World Champion Mo Farah will return to track on Thursday for the first time since doping allegations against his coach Alberto Salazar.

The 32-year-old athlete will square-off against his British team mate Andy Vernon in the Diamond League 5,000m in Lausanne, the BBC reported.

Farah had earlier said that he had never taken performance-enhancing drugs in his life, insisting that he would never resort to any such things.

Gatlin cruises to 200m win at US championships

London, June 29 - Justin Gatlin continued his blistering pace of the season as he became the fifth-fastest 200m sprinter in history by winning the final at the American Athletics Championships.

The American clocked 19.57 seconds to finish ahead of Isiah Young and Wallace Spearmon and consequently sets up a thrilling showdown with Usain Bolt in both 100m and 200m at the World Championships in Beijing in late August, the BBC reported.

The 33-year-old, who has served two doping bans, had earlier opted to skip the 100m heat in view of automatic bye into World Championships.

Jessica Ennis-Hill's coach blasts Mo Farah for missing drug tests

London, June 19 - Jessica Ennis-Hill's top Olympic coach Toni Minichiello has blasted Mo Farah for missing drugs tests prior to the 2012 London Olympics.

According to a newspaper report, Farah missed the first doping test in early 2010, months before he joined Alberto Salazar's Nike Oregon Project and the second one came at his home in February 2011, when he claimed not to have heard the doorbell.

Toni Minichiello, who trained heptathlon champion Ennis-Hill, said that it was part of the job as a professional athlete.
