
London, July 20 : Tottenham Hotspurs star Danny Rose had to face the brunt of fans after went online to brag he won 700 pounds from his team-mates in 10 minutes during one poker game.
Team GB's football multi- millionaires settled into the Olympic Village on Thursday by setting up a high-stakes gambling school.
Angry fans blasted the left back for being so flash and told him to donate the cash to charity. Others whined the players' gambling was not in the spirit of the Games.
Team GB's football squad, captained by veteran Ryan Giggs, will be mingling with other Olympians, who are mostly amateur -athletes on modest incomes.
"So I hear the boys screaming from a few rooms away. Walk down and see what's what. Sat down for 10 minutes and... left with £700 hahahahaha. Back to bed now. It's been a good night hahaha," The Daily Star quoted Rose's tweet, as saying.
Rose then posted a picture of the game showing the hands of a dealer, piles of poker chips and five stacks of cards. The players were using a special Olympic deck with each card carrying a Union flag and the slogan: "Come On GB."
One of the fans Emma Crow messaged: "Shud donate to charity???"
While another fan Richard Davidson posted: "Nice to win 1% of your weekly salary."
Luke Harrison wanted to know: "Who is gambling their money away??''
One blogger posted on a football website: "Hardly getting into the spirit of the Olympics.'' Another messaged: "It really doesn't give footballers a good name at all."
A spokesman for the Team GB men's football team declined to comment on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a Football Association source said: "We're aware of it. The tweets have been deleted." (ANI)
