Symonds says needs time to reflect about his cricket future

Brisbane (Australia), June 6 : Cricketer Andrew Symonds returned to Brisbane on Saturday and admitted he needed time to consider what he was going to do about his playing future.

Symonds arrived at Brisbane Airport just before 7 a. m. (AEST) on Saturday morning following his dumping from the Australia World Twenty20 squad.

"I''ve got a fair bit to consider I suppose and I appreciate you all coming out here this morning and I will come out and make a full proper when I''ve gathered my thoughts and sat down with friends," Fox Sports quoted him, as saying.

The 33-year-old all-rounder was sent home for breaking team rules after yet another alcohol-related incident while preparing for the tournament.

Symonds looked exhausted after the long flight and appeared surprised at the sheer number of reporters and camera crews at the airport.

Queensland Cricket CEO Graham Dixon, who told journalists Queensland Cricket still wanted Andrew Symonds to play for the Queensland Bulls, met Symonds at Brisbane Airport. He was driven away by former Queensland teammate Joe Dawes.

Symonds has been told his Cricket Australia contract is being reviewed and his troubled history suggests his time has ended with Australian teams.

His rich contract with Indian Premier League champions Deccan Chargers has a year remaining.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Symonds appeared quiet and relaxed after his flight, arriving in combat fatigue shorts and a sleeveless vest.(ANI)
