Super Kings shock Mumbai Indians

Chennai-Super-KingsChennai, April 6 : The Chennai Super Kings ended Mumbai Indians' winning streak with a stunning 24-run victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) here Tuesday.

In a shocking batting display, the Mumbai Indians lost six wickets in as many overs in the middle of their chase after restricting the Super Kings to 165 for four earlier, to finish on 141 for nine in their allotted 20 overs.

It was Mumbai Indians's second defeat in nine matches while the Super Kings chalked up their fifth win in 10 games to move to 10 points.

Again, it was Sachin Tendulkar (45) who held the Mumbai innings despite retiring due to dehydration and then coming out to bat again following the mid-innings collapse. But overall, it was the Super Kings who bowled and fielded well to make up for a rather tepid showing by their batsmen. (IANS)
