London, Aug. 10 : Manchester United’s talismanic striker Wayne Rooney has said Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie would be a great addition to their current squad.
Van Persie had earlier refused to extend his contract with the Gunners, and is currently in the last year of his deal.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has brought his club''s pursuit of Van Persie into the public domain this week, admitting that a bid for the Dutch international has been lodged with the London club.
“''He''s a player that I admire. He’s a fantastic player, he''s been amazing for Arsenal over many years,” The Daily Mirror quoted Rooney, as saying
“Last season was probably his best season of all, he scored a lot of goals. If he does come here he would be a great addition to the squad,” he added. (ANI)
