London, Dec 29: England football captain Rio Ferdinand just cannot get enough of social networking site Twitter, which he uses to engage in topics from current affairs to general chat.
Ferdinand, 32, loves to communicate with his fans through Twitter, and this year, he has hardly let an hour go by without updating his growing number of followers with a 140-character summary.
"It's a way of communicating with fans," Sky News quoted him as saying.
"I like to talk on current affairs. And that can be anything from Corrie and X Factor to the North and South Korea conflict. It allows me to talk to the man on the street.
"Importantly, it can right wrongs. A lot of people wrote things about my injury. I got on Twitter to put people right," he said.
And for a sportsman whose football is seen across the word by millions of people, it's the folk he connects with on Twitter that makes it a must for him.
"To be part of a something along with 100,00 others is great," he added. (ANI)
