WADA retesting all sampples of Russian Paralympic athletes

Moscow, Aug 8 : The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is retesting all doping samples of all Russian athletes, who participated in the Paralympic Games in 2012 and 2014, Russia's Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on Sunday.

WADA's independent commission, chaired by Richard McLaren, released a report on July 18 on the results of its probe into the accusations of doping and manipulation of tests by Russian athletes and officials at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, reports Tass.

Moscow, May 27 : The Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) has named dope offender and suspended star Maria Sharapova among four tennis players who will compete in women's singles at the Olympics in Rio.

Apart from Sharapova, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anastasia Pavliuchenkova, and Darya Kasatkina were named, reports Tass.

The regulations for the Games say countries can enter four women players having the biggest points in international ratings.

However, there is still uncertainty about Sharapova's participation.

Moscow, May 17 : The hearing of Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova's doping case will not take place before June, Russian Tennis Federation president Shamil Tarpishchev has said.

Sharapova is currently suspended from competitions for using banned drug Meldonium reports TASS.

"Sharapova's situation is complicated. The thing is that she admitted that she had taken Meldonium. The case will not be considered so long as the two laboratories do not study the preparation. I believe that's not going to happen earlier than June," Tarpishchev said on Monday.

Sochi (Russia), April 30 : Team Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will start the Formula One Russia Grand Prix with new engines, according to a F1 technical delegate report.

"The internal combustion engine used by the above drivers is one of the five new internal combustion engines allowed for the 2016 Championship season," the report said on Friday, reports Tass.

Moscow: The Meldonium concentration in the blood sample of Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova exceeds the permissible level, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has said.

"Masha's case is more complicated. The Meldonium concentration in her blood is above the norm. Masha took the formula for several year on her doctor's prescription. I am not going to announce if she will be able to avoid punishment or not. We just want her to restore her position in sport," Mutko stressed, in an interview aired by Match TV on Wednesday, reports Tass.
