Torrential rain causes Monza free practice to be abandoned
Submitted by Rajiv Dhoot on Fri, 09/12/2008 - 11:01.Monza, Italy - Torrential rain in Monza on Friday caused the first free practice for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix to be abandoned shortly before the end of the 90 minute session.
The pit lane was completely under water and mechanics had to lift the cars to prevent them from being flooded.
Several drivers spun off the course on the 5.793 kilometre-long track and weather forecasts for Saturday's qualifying session and Sunday's race also predict rain. Read more »
