Cricket championship organised by J-K police for youth

Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Dec. 25 : A sports championship was recently organised by Jammu and Kashmir police and the Shaheed Welfare Committee in Kathua.

The 7th Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 North Zone cricket championship was aimed at giving the youth of the area opportunities to exhibit their talent in sports and give shape to their future through nation-building activities.

Nearly sixteen teams drawn from North India took part in the championship inaugurated by the state's Director General of Police, Dr. S P Vaid.

Shillong, Feb. 18 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's only international coach, Sajid Yousuf Dar, who was the head coach of the Indian women's national football team for the recently held 12th South Asian Games, ensured that his team clinched gold by beating Nepal in the final 4-0.

The tournamentsaw Dar's team in top form. Its unbeaten run in the event is a testimony to the fact that the Kashmir Valley has been able to encourage such a tallented football coach as Dar despite the region facing turmoil.
