Hamburg - Czech midfielder David Jarolim has been handed the captain's armband at SV Hamburg following the departure to Real Madrid of Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart, the club said Thursday.
Dutch coach Martin Jol resisted the temptation of naming veteran goalkeeper Frank Rost as captain, saying it was important to have a field player as leader on the pitch.
