Ahmedabad [India], Oct. 20 : Thailand beat Japan 37-33 in a thrilling contest to seal their semi final berth as they topped Group A in the ongoing Kabaddi World Cup.

The crowd at TransStadia Arena was enthralled by a super performance by both teams but it was Thailand who held their nerve to edge out Japan. Thailand captain Khomsan Thongkham scored 10 points to lead his team to a thrilling win.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], Oct.19 :India booked their place in the semi-finals of the ongoing Kabaddi World Cup with a thumping 69-18 victory over England in their group clash at TransStadia Arena here last evening.

Pardeep Narwal scored 13 points while Ajay Thakur scored 11 pointsas India made full use of their squad depth to notch a comfortable win and ended their group campaign on a high.

After suffering a shock defeat in their opening match against Republic of Korea, India bounced back in style and finished the group matches with a whopping score difference of 174.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], Oct.19 :Kenya kept their semi-final hopes alive as they thrashed USA 74-19 in their last Group B match of the ongoing Kabaddi World Cup here at the TransStadia Arena here last evening.

Three Kenyan defenders achieved a high five whereas captain David Mosambayi scored 12 points to in Kenya's dominant performance. USA defence scored just five points and made too many errors, as they remained winless in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], Oct.18 : Bangladesh produced a terrific performance as they thrashed Australia by a record margin 80-8 in their league tie of the ongoing Kabaddi World Cup at the TransStadia Arena here last evening.

The victory margin of 72 points was the biggest at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup.

Aruduzzaman Munshi scored 17 points for Bangladesh whereas Sabuj Mia scored nine tackle points. Australia suffered the ignominy of being the first team to not reach double figures in the World Cup.
