London, Au 7: England's best batsman over the past decade, Kevin Pietersen has dropped another bombshell, saying that the Lord's Test match against South Africa could be his career's last following a complete breakdown in his relationship with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Pietersen also suggested that the breakdown in the relationship was not just limited to the ECB, but it also extended to the dressing room.

Pietersen has blamed cricket politics along with a host of other reasons for his possible exit.

The South Africa born batsman has held the ECB responsible for leaking details of confidential meetings to the media.

"Yes, the next game could be my last. Maybe. I will say more at the end of Lord's. The saddest part of all this is that the spectators love watching me and I love playing for England but the politics is what I have to deal with personally," The Daily Mirror quoted Pietersen, as saying.

"It is tough being me in this dressing room. Playing for England is tough. You'll find out why. It was blamed on me that pre the Test series it was me grabbing headlines. Did I leak anything to the media about the meetings I was having with the ECB?," he added.

"I never spoke to the media for one single second and it was about me grabbing the headlines. I didn't speak a single word to anyone about meetings that I thought were behind closed doors and you want to make me out to be a bad guy," he said.

Pietersen further added: "Playing in the entire IPL and the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka are two of many points. They are not the two main points, there are other points I'm trying to sort out in the dressing room."

"The family thing and spending more time with them is another thing, but there are other issues more important that need sorting," he said. (ANI)
