London, Sept.25 - Former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has revealed that he was the one who stopped Luis Suarez from joining Arsenal in the summer of 2013.

According to the Mirror, Suarez was desperate to join Arsenal two years ago, but Liverpool refused to accept the bid, forcing Suarez to eventually stay at Anfield for one more season.

Gerrard, who is currently playing for MLS club LA Galaxy, said that he also played a key role in changing Suarez's mind.

Johannesburg, July 22 - Steven Gerrard has described former team mate Luis Suarez as 'probably the best' he has ever played ahead of a friendly tie between Barcelona and MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.

Both players were teammates at Liverpool for three years before Suarez moved to the Catalan giants last year.

Describing the Uruguayan international as 'fantastic talent' and a 'very dangerous player', Gerrard said that Suarez is probably the best player he has played with, Sport24 reported.
