Ballack remains captain after making peace with Loew

The German football federation DFB said in a statement that Ballack and Loew buried the hatchet when they met Thursday at the DFB headquarters in Frankfurt.
The news ended speculation that Ballack may resign as captain or even be stripped of thios position after criticising Loew last week in a newspaper interview over his selection criteria and attitude towards players. Even his future in the team was considered. Read more »
Ballack undergoes foot surgery to have neuroma removed

The German football federation DFB said in a statement that Ballack underwent the operation in Augsburg on Friday after complaining about pain in his feet after Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Wales.
Germany team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt said that Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari gave his nod to the operation and that Ballack should be back in training in two weeks if all goes well. Read more »

Dusseldorf - Captain Michael Ballack is a doubt for Germany's World Cup qualifier against Wales Wednesday due to a calf injury he picked up in the 2-1 weekend victory over Russia.

Dusseldorf - Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack was the last member of Joachim Loew's squad to arrive in Dusseldorf Tuesday ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Russia and Wales.
Ballack arrived in time for an open training session in the LTU Arena although Loew had to do with a squad of 21 players as Marcell Jansen has pulled out with a muscle strain. Read more »
