Sydney, Jan. 30 : After taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Twenty20 series, India will aim to stamp their authority and claim a series whitewash over Australia when they step on to the field for the third and final match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.
The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side registered their first ever T20 bilateral series win in Australia after defeating the hosts by 27 runs in Melbourne on Friday. And, the inconsequential final match would be the perfect way for India to leave Australia after a disappointing ODI series.
Sydney, Jan. 23 - Jubilant after finally tasting victory on this Australian tour, India's limited over skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday heaped praise on Manish Pandey, who struck his maiden one-day century in a high-scoring thriller to help his side secure a pride-salvaging six-wicket victory against Australia in the fifth and final ODI here.
Dhoni said this innings will provide a great boost to his confidence and will help him in development as a character.
New Delhi : Should MS Dhoni and his boys pull off a 3-0 sweep in the T20I series against Australia, they will vault to number one on the ICC Twenty20 International rankings.
A series sweep will propel India to 120 points, while Australia will plummet to number eight with 110 points from the current 118.
At the moment, Team India has 110 points.
A 2-1 series win will see India slip to seventh and the Aussies to sixth.
India are currently ranked eighth while Australia are at second spot behind the West Indies (118). Sri Lanka are on third with 118 points.

New Delhi, Jan. 18: Indian ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been named as a captain of the Pune franchise for the upcoming ninth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Sanjiv Goenka-owned side, which had earlier appointed former New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming as the head coach of the team, will be called as Rising Pune Supergiants.
Earlier, Pune's New Rising and Rajkot's Intex won the bid of the two new franchises for the next two editions of the IPL.

Perth, Jan. 11 : Indian ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday said the forthcoming series against Australia will be a 'learning curve' for the youngsters in the side, adding that it would test the senior players of the team as well.
The 34-year-old said the series against the 'tough' Australian side would provide a lot of exposure to the youngsters.
