Partying tops Gayle's agenda over Ashes series

chris-gayleSydney, Dec 29 : Australia's fall in the Ashes might have sent shock waves in the cricketing fraternity the world over but West Indies' star batsman Chris Gayle claims he has paid little attention to the series as he was busy partying.

Gayle, who reached Perth Tuesday, however, was more interested in focusing on his upcoming stint with Western Australia (WA) in the Twenty20 Big Bash.

"I didn't follow much of it because it (Ashes series) kind of clashed with my party events in Jamaica," Gayle was quoted in Sydney Morning Herald

"In the nights, cricket starts late my time. I heard England retained the Ashes, so congrats to them on their part."

England took a 2-1 series lead and ensured the urn would remain in their hands by thumping Australia by an innings and 157 runs in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground Wednesday.(IANS)
