Colombo, Aug 1: Australian batsman Shaun Marsh is hoping that a good showing in the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka will push his case for a baggy green cap.
Marsh appears to be in a direct battle with Usman Khawaja for the No. 6 spot in Australia's batting line-up after being included in the 15-man Test squad.
The three-match Test series will follow two Twenty20 internationals and a five-match ODI series.
"It's just going to be a lot of fun. I'm going to challenge myself," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Marsh, as saying.
"Sri Lankan series are usually very tough. It's hot and they usually doctor the wickets to their style. It's going to be a great challenge and I'm looking forward to it," he added.
Australia will open the tour with the first of two Twenty20 internationals in Kandy next Saturday. (ANI)
