Klopp delighted by Liverpool's `well-deserved` progress in Europa League

London, Feb. 26 : Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has showered praise on his side after they progressed to the last-16 of the Europa League by beating Augsburg, saying that the victory was 'well-deserved'.

Midfielder James Milner scored a penalty in the fifth minute as Liverpool claimed a 1-0 win over Augsburg in the second leg of the last-32 tie.

Describing his side as the 'better' team, Klopp said that Liverpool played a really good game and created chances to claim a deserving victory.

"The free-kicks were the biggest challenge for us. But it was a really good game and it was absolutely deserved; everybody who saw the game would have to say we deserved to win and were the better team and created chances," the German was quoted as saying by goal. com.

The 48-year-old, however, said that it was a very tough match and added that Augsburg took the risk and defended pretty well against them.

"If you look at it overall and the work Markus Weinzierl has done, he has got a great team and done really well - particularly given the injuries they've had," he added.(ANI)
