‘Flummoxed’ Button reveals frustration over getting lapped by Hamilton at Canada GP

http://www.topnews.in/sports/files/Jenson-Button_43.jpgLondon, June 13 : McLaren's ace driver Jensen Button has revealed it is difficult for him to understand why he performed so badly at the Canada Grand Prix on Sunday, and added he was disappointed after getting lapped by teammate Lewis Hamilton, who went on to win the race.

To add more to Button's ignominy, he was also overtaken, and then later lapped by Sauber's Sergio Perez, who finished third.

When asked whether he would have expected to be slugging it out with the back markers, Button said: "No, not really."

"Being lapped by your teammate - he obviously won the race and did an amazing job - but it's a strange experience and more than being disappointed," The Sun quoted Button, as saying.

"It's difficult to understand why it happened. It's not like I made mistakes or crashed. I was just too slow and I finished 16th," he added.

"Perez started in 15th and finished on the podium - and he lapped me - it's not like I had a bad start either, I was up to ninth, but there was no pace," he said.

But the 2009 world champion is confident his McLaren team will eventually iron out their problems.

Button further said: "I'm not taking a holiday right now. I'm driving my heart out, but it just isn't working for me. We'll sort it out. There's no finger pointing, which is good for the team and myself. We just have to sit down and try and work out what the issues are." (ANI)
