London, Feb 14 : Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone has said former champion Lewis Hamilton could part ways with McLaren at the end of the 2012-13 season as he enters the final year of the contract. Hamilton endured a tumultuous 2011 campaign during which his three wins were overshadowed by problems both on and off the track.
Ecclestone is anticipating that Hamilton and McLaren will reassess their options should both driver and team not hit the ground running this season. "If he doesn't perform this year he could be looking to move on and maybe the team would also be looking for him to move on," Daily Mail quoted Ecclestone, as saying.
But Ecclestone is sure that Hamilton is fully focused to perform well this season and wont be thinking about his contract deal with McLaren at the moment. "''I spoke to Lewis the other day, I think he has got a bit more focused," he said. (ANI)
