England to rely on ''specialists'' in ODIs following Bell''s century against Windies

http://topnews.in/sports/files/Ian-Bell_11.jpgLondon, June 18 : England, who are aiming to become the best limited overs team in the world after conquering the Test front, would continue to play specialist players in their one-day team following Ian Bell''s spectacular century against the West Indies in the first of the three one-day matches between them.

Bell, who replaced Kevin Pietersen in the one-day team, justified selectors decision to give him another chance to improve on his average one-day record by scoring a brilliant 126 on Saturday.

England are now certain that, with the Champions Trophy being held at home next year and the 2015 World Cup in Australia, sticking to specialist players can land them their maiden 50-overs title, The Daily Mail reports

England have decided to invest in their traditional strengths following the introduction of a new ball and their encouraging series win against Pakistan in the UAE.

A top three of Bell, Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott will never win any big-hitting competitions but England are convinced they can score quickly enough to form the backbone of the one-day batting. (ANI)
