Sydney, June 21: Cricket Australia want a four-man, part-time panel in place in September to select the squads to tour South Africa, but there is uncertainty over when the Argus review will table its findings and recommendations.
An unveiling in August was anticipated when the review started in February but some predict October. Cricket Australia last night refused to speculate over the timing of its delivery.
October could be problematic because the squads to tour South Africa would have been named.
Boon, who has accepted a job as an ICC match referee, will leave the panel in mid-July after helping pick the touring party to Sri Lanka.
''''We will move to replace him in the fullness of time - at some point after we have chosen the Sri Lanka squad and before we need to choose the South African squads is the broad thinking,'''' a CA spokesman said yesterday.
Whoever replaces Boon will come under immense scrutiny after Simon Katich''s damning criticism of selectors following his controversial axing earlier this month.
CA has said since the announcement of the review earlier this year that it will be ''''business as usual'''' while Argus''s committee is at work. (ANI)
