Cowan still has Ponting’s ‘poster’ in his Sydney bedroom

Cowan still has Ponting’s ‘poster’ in his Sydney bedroomSydney, Jan 22 : Australian opener Ed Cowan has revealed that he idolized Ricky Ponting when he was young and still has a poster of Ponting on the wall of his bedroom at his family home. "I loved Ricky Ponting. I walked into my Mum and Dad''s house today, which is still in Sydney, and went up to my old room and there''s still a poster of Ricky Ponting on the wall," said Cowan who has not lived at home since he was 18.

"The room has sort of been vacant for 10 years. This is a guy that I grew up watching and idolizing and all of a sudden I look around and he''s got me in a headlock in the dressing room." Cowan also stressed that he won't change his game due to his partner David Warner's explosive batting style, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

''"I do sometimes feel like a poorer cousin of the way David bats, but at the same time, you do have to be yourself." "There''s no point me going out and trying to bat like David Warner. I have to stick to my methods and why I''m opening the batting and how I score my runs. Everyone is different, and if I stick to that, I feel as though I will be successful and the partnership will be successful," he added. (ANI)
