London, June 15(ANI): Reigning Formula One champion Jenson Button has said that he is looking forward for a McLaren one-two finish at next month’s British Grand Prix with team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
The British Grand Prix will be held at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire on July 11.
“When was the last time we had British drivers first and second in the championship?” The Sun quoted Button, as saying.
Button, who trails Hamilton by three points in the championship drivers’ standings, further said that he would try to grab the lead at the European Grand Prix.
“I don’t know how it will go at Valencia, but I’d love to be leading going into the British GP. The same for Lewis,” he added.
The 30-year-old has had to settle for second best in the last two races in Turkey last month and Canada on Sunday, as Hamilton grabbed the glory with victory.
The back-to-back one-two finishes means the McLaren team is now 22 points clear of Red Bull in the constructors’ table. (ANI)
