London, July 4 : England one-day cricket team captain Alastair Cook has branded fast bowler Stuart Broad''s abuse of umpire Billy Bowden as unacceptable.
Broad has been docked 50 per cent of his match fee - around £1,500 - for abusing umpire Billy Bowden in Friday''s loss at Headingley.
The Sun quoted Cook, 26, as saying: "He overstepped the mark and admitted it. But Broady has always played that way - it''s part of what has made him go so far in the game so quickly. Hopefully he won''t do it again."
Cook now faces two must-win games against Sri Lanka to avoid defeat in his first series as full-time one-day skipper. (ANI)
