London, Aug 13 : Six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has forced IOC president Jacques Rogge to accept him as a legend.
Rogge refused to say Bolt was a legend of athletics even though he has just become the first man to defend the Olympic 100m and 200m titles, and he also added a second sprint relay gold.
Bolt demanded that Rogge tell him exactly what he must do to achieve legendary status, and the Belgian back-tracked yesterday by saying: "It is a semantic question, but you would say that Usain Bolt is an active-performance legend, an icon and the best sprinter of all time."
Bolt repeated his sprint double from Beijing four years ago and led Jamaica to the world-record relay time of 36.84secs, the Daily Express reports.
"What else do I need to do to prove myself as a legend?" he asked.
"World-record holder in both events; I've won both events twice at the Olympics; I've won World Championship gold medals - I don't know what else to do.
"When next time you see him [Rogge], you should ask what Usain needs to do that no human has ever done because I've done it already."
Bolt is likely to run for more gold at the World Championships in Moscow next year but after that his future is unclear.
He intends to go to the Rio Olympics in 2016 but believes he will not be the force he now is and could switch to either long jump or the 400m, the Daily Express reports. (ANI)
