London, Jan 24 : Boxer Amir Khan is set to exchange rings with Pakistani American student Faryal Makhdoom, in an engagement party at Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium.
Khan has already splashed out 100,000 pounds on a ring with three diamonds, while Makhdoom will present him with one that is platinum encrusted with diamonds.
The lavish 150,000-pound party has a guest list of 1000 people, which includes names like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Ricky Hatton, David Haye and Bolton football stars Kevin Davies and Jussi Jaaskelainen.
The happy couple are spending a few days in New York and later Makhdoom will fly down to Britain for the engagement on Sunday. After marriage they plan to stay in Bolton itself.
The bride-to-be's father, Shaukat, and mum Zia gave the couple a BMW 750Li as a gift when they announced they were getting engaged - so they can get around New York when he visits.
Meanwhile, the couple - who met last July - are also getting their share of admiration from the boxer's fans.
"I get a lot of messages from Amir's fans and quite a few say I look like Kate Middleton," Makhdoom said.
"That's so nice because so many people admire her. She's also very stylish - so it's really very flattering for me," she said.
The husband-to-be too can't stop raving about his soon to be wife and says that she is a `terrific person'.
"A lot of girls back home have said to me, `Your girl is beautiful' - and that's great because people can be so jealous," he said.
"But Faryal is so humble. Anybody who meets her is going to fall in love with her. She's got no edge, she's just a terrific person," he added. (ANI)
