Karachi, June 26 : The Pakistan Cricket Board''s (PCB) Elite Panel Umpires may have to go through eye and hearing tests, following a recommendation put forward by one of the world''s top umpire, Aleem Dar.
"They have to undergo these tests because we want to make sure that we get the best umpires next season. Our preference was to bring in former cricketers who understand the game and younger people whose reflexes are sharp," The Express Tribune quoted Dar, as saying.
Dar has also asked the board to bring an end to the tradition of captain handing and advised that the match-referee report be made supreme.
"Some umpires want to be in the captain''s good books while some are afraid to make tough decisions," he said. (ANI)
