‘Admirer’ Serena rooting for ‘exciting’ Murray in Wimbledon final against Federer

http://www.topnews.in/sports/files/Andy-Murray-Serena-Williams.jpgLondon, July 7: Serena Williams has admitted being a big fan of world number four Andy Murray, and would be rooting for the exciting Brit during his final against Swiss ace Roger Federer in the Wimbledon final on Sunday.

Serena, who takes on Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska in the ladies' final on Saturday as she aims for a fifth title at the All England Club and 14th Grand Slam, slammed former Wimbledon champion Virginia Wade for branding Murray as a drama queen.

"I am a big Andy Murray fan. I love watching him play and I think he is really exciting," The Sun quoted Serena, as saying.

"You never know what he is going to do. He's running every ball down. He looks tired and then he comes back. I think it is awesome. He's really one of my favourite people to watch for years and if that is being a drama queen, it is really exciting," she added.

Serena also backed Murray to win his maiden Grand Slam at SW19 by beating one of the greatest tennis players ever, Federer, but believes the Scot would have to get rid of anxiety during the match.

"He will obviously have the crowd behind him on Sunday, which could be a little nerve-racking and he could be a little nervous playing at home. But it would be so amazing for him to do well," Serena said.

"People always talk about the top four and he is always included. Andy's day is bound to come, whether it is this weekend or some other weekend," she added. (ANI)
