Islamabad, July 20 : Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said banned pacer Mohammad Aamir deserves a chance for a return to international arena as the national side is in dire need of pacers.
"If a player repeats the same mistake again then life ban should be imposed on him, but Aamir committed a mistake for the first time and was banned by the ICC for five years. I believe as soon he completes his sentence, he should return to international arena," The Nation quoted Shoaib, as saying.
Shoaib added that the national side has many talented players, who, if they play up to their potential will surely win.
Shoaib and former captain Moin Khan will embark upon a seven-city tour of Pakistan as part of Sprite Cricket Next 2012 programme to select talented youngsters and groom them for future. (ANI)
