Soylent starts selling Complete Meal in a Glass
Soylent has come up with a meal-replacement drink that will fulfill the nutritional needs of a person. The company has claimed that it has found a formula to food. Soylent CEO Rob Rhinehart said that the drink would prove quite beneficial for those who work long hours and do not want to have junk.
Soylent CEO Rob Rhinehart said that he is no enemy against food. In fact, he loves pizza, burritos and barbecue. He was of the view that when he used to work for long hours, he was left with no other option but to have things that were not good for body.
But now, he drinks 80% of his daily calories. “This is not something that's designed as a supplement to fill in the gaps of your diet, this is a full meal, it's going to give you everything your body needs”, affirmed Rhinehart.
The drink has been designed to provide a complete meal of essential vitamins, minerals and healthy fat. The best part of the drink is that Soylent has no cholesterol. Each serving contains 400 calories and has 20 grams of proteins.
The drink has been intentionally kept bland, so that people can flavor it the way they want. There are many who have not liked the concept of Soylent.
“This does not substitute for regular food; it certainly could be used together with food, but in no way does it provide all of the things that you get from eating a diet of colorful fruits and vegetables and adequate protein”, stated UCLA Division of Clinical Nutrition Chief David Heber.
