South Korea's e-commerce sales grow

e-commerceSeoul, Feb 27 : South Korea's e-commerce sales grew for at least 12 years as cyberspace transactions between companies kept an upward trend, a government report showed Wednesday.

E-commerce sales, gauging transactions in the cyberspace, was 1,144.7 trillion won ($1.06 trillion) in 2012, up 14.5 percent from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea. The reading maintained a growth trend since at least 2001, reported Xinhua.

Business-to-business (B2B) sales, which account for more than 90 percent of the total, increased 15.1 percent last year, with consumer-to-consumer (C2C) transactions surging 20.6 percent.

Business-to-government (B2G) transactions rose 6.6 percent in 2012, with business-to-consumer (B2C) sales gaining 6 percent.(IANS)
