Tibetan exiles gather for a six-day meeting in DharamsalaDharamsala, Nov 17 : Hundreds of Tibetan exiles today gathered here for a six-day long meeting to discuss the future course of action after the failure of eight round of talks with China.

Tibetan exiles from across the globe have come for the special meeting called on by the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader.

Tibetan exiles organise peace concert in DharamsalaDharamsala, Nov 9 : Tibetan exiles in Dharamsala organised a music concert here to promote peace and harmony.

Organised by Raise the Tibetan Flag Campaign (RTFC) and a self-help group, RAGPA, the concert provided a chance to exiles to stay connected with their music, which they feel is dying a slow death after the Chinese invasion of their homeland.

Such concerts they felt, help to preserve their culture.

The three-day horse fair at Rampur in Himachal Pradesh that started on Tuesday and will conclude on Thursday has been attracting buyers from neighbouring states like Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The main attraction at this year''s exhibition is Chaumurti, the rare sturdy breed of Himachal region.

GAIL inks agreement with Government of Himachal Pradesh

GAIL inks agreement with Government of Himachal PradeshState-run gas utility Gas Authority India Limited (GAIL) has informed that it has signed a Co-operation agreement with Government of Himachal Pradesh to link the hill state with the national gas grid.

GAIL was setting up gas pipeline networks from Uttar Pradesh to Haryana to Punjab and finally to Himachal Pradesh. The 610-km long Dadri-Bawana-Nangal pipeline, which will pass through Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab entails an investment worth Rs 25 billion.

44 die in road accident in northern Indian hill state

shimlaNew Delhi  - At least 44 people, many of them women, died in a road accident on Tuesday when their bus plunged into a 200-feet-deep gorge in the northern Indian hill state of Himachal Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place near the tourist destination of Kufri, about 16 kilometres north of Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla, where the bus was headed, an official at the police control room said.

The privately-owned bus had originated at Kotighat, about 70 kilometres north of Shimla, and had picked up passengers along the way.
