Mahindra & Mahindra launches new e2o in Delhi

India’s automotive giant, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the launch of its new electric four seater passenger car called, e2o in the national capital, Delhi today.
The Mahindra e2o (energy to oxygen) model is developed by Reva Electric Car Company, which has been renamed Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles. The Reva Electric Car Company had developed the model as NXR for the Indian market. The Mahindra e2o will replace REVAi and will become the most cost effective car to own in the country.
Over 50% of malls in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad lying vacant: survey

With 55 per cent of malls lying vacant, Delhi-NCR topped the list of cities having much of their mall space vacant. Mumbai and Ahmedabad followed with 52 per cent and 51 per cent vacant mall spaces, respectively.
Tomar collapsed while walking, says eyewitness

An eyewitness has claimed that Delhi Police constable Subhash Chand Tomar, who died amid protests against the rape of a medical student in Delhi, collapsed while walking and was not beaten up by the protestors.
Dr PS Sidhu at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital also indicated that the constable did not have major internal or external injuries when he was brought to the hospital. He added that the constable had injuries on knee and chest but no fracture and had already suffered a cardiac arrest before he was brought to the hospital.

Real estate space of Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi will likely attract less international investments in 2013 than last year, according to a new report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Urban Land Institute.
The report titled "Emerging Trends in Real Estate Asia Pacific 2013" ranked Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi at 19th, 20th and 21st spots, respectively, in the list of top twenty-two investment destinations.
Last year, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi were ranked at 10th, 15th and 12th positions, respectively.

Yamuna’s situation is pathetic: SC

A bench of Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice S J Mukhopadhaya said that Yamuna has become merely a drain and that it doesn't have fresh water after Wazirabad.
The apex court bench said, "Yamuna is merely a drain. It does not have fresh water after Wazirabad. It is reflected that the state of affairs is pathetic."
Railways against use of a fastening system in DMRC’s Phase 3

The Ministry of Railways has voiced its opposition to the use of a particular fastening system in the tracks that will be constructed as part of the 140-km Phase 3 expansion of Delhi Metro.
The type of fastening system that involves fixes rails to the steel plates, rubber pads and clips of the concrete pads was earlier used in the Delhi Airport Metro Express line. The DMRC was planning to use RHEDA system for ballastless track with Vossloh 300 fastening system; however the Indian Railways has expressed its opposition to the plans.

Swine flu taken two more life’s in Delhi

It has been reported that two more people died of H1N1 flu in Delhi and seven more people appeared with swine flu on the same day, making the total count to 54.
Out of the two persons died in Delhi, one died at Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on Monday and the second person was reported from a private hospital.
Although it is still not clear that people who died are residents of Delhi or they have come from outside Delhi, investigations are being carried out to find out the truth said by a senior health official.

Moreover, these buses will run on 20 routes. These buses were much awaited since while on one hand they connect the various stations of Metro Rail; on the other they promise a comfortable ride on the routes this summer
The announcement also said that the contractor has not yet been finalized but what routes are going to a part of this program have already been charted out.

CAG says low-floor buses are costly

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has been slammed by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), for the under-utilization of its low-floor buses.
In its recently submitted report, the auditing body said that the DTC is misusing the government's resources by buying such expensive buses. It is further draining the resources by under-utilizing these public transport vehicles.
It said that these kinds of buses are not suitable for the homogeneous fleet present in the city.
Insurance companies instructed by consumer court to compensate mediclaim

Insurance companies have been instructed by the Delhi State Consumer Commission to compensate medical expenses incurred by a patient within a year of taking mediclaim policy even though the exclusion clause is declared or not.
The exclusion clause acknowledged that policy holders cannot claim their medical policy within a year of taking it.
Talking in relation to exclusion clause government finds insurance companies at fault of not conveying this clause to the policy holders while policy is issued.
